Well, the weekend is over, and I find myself back at work. I ran across this funny little photo this morning and it made me laugh.
Friday, I came home to find my Wii waiting. I was amazed it arrived so quickly since I had just ordered it a couple days prior and it was shipping from Minnesota. Luckily, everything was in very good condition and after I gave it a serious scrub down, I plugged it all in and gave it a go. Everything worked perfectly and after dinner Brandy and I played some Wii Bowling and Golf, where she had some beginner’s luck and ended up beating me.
Saturday, we decided to take a trip to Popeyes and grab a chicken sandwich. On our way home we stopped off at Ollies and picked up a few odds and ends before heading home.
Once home, we sat down and watched When Jeff Tried to Save the World. It’s a small indie film and it reminds me of the type of films made in the 90’s. It’s quirky, weird, and nothing too much happens in the film. It co-stars Maya Erskine, who I really enjoyed in Plus One and had a great score.
We ended the night playing some Yoshi’s Crafted World, watching some cooking shows, and eating delicious chicken tacos with purple sweet potatoes.
Sunday was a major lazy day. Brandy wasn’t feeling like doing much, so she napped and I watched Psych, Community, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, which my buddy Michael had recommended in the comments on my horror website. I really dug TCM 3D, it was dumb but a lot of fun. I wrote a review for it this morning and placed it on my next opening for a review which was November 1st, 2021!! That just blows my mind.
I also watched a couple episodes of Cursed Films, a documentary series that Shudder created, but man is it a disappointment. I thought The Exorcist episode was just bad, but after watching the Poltergeist one, I think I’m done. They should have made a ninety minute documentary and just covered all of the films at once, because there is not enough material (nor is there any sort of narrative) to drive these thirty minute shows.
I ended the evening on a bit of a sour note. I’m not sure what came over me, but I just didn’t have much motivation to do anything. I couldn’t find a movie I wanted to watch nor a book. I just kinda felt indifferent to everything. I forced myself to read a little before eventually succumbing to the Sandman, but its like I lost all my interests in everything for a while there.
I don’t have much planned for this week, but I’m hoping by the end of the day to find some focus.
