I came home Friday to find a huge homemade sheet tent fort set up in the living room. Brandy had spent the day designing an awesome in-home tent complete with air mattress for us to sleep on, watch TV, and play video games. It was a unique way to spend the weekend and really changed things up a bit.
I played quite a bit of Red Dead Redemption and also managed to watch a couple of movies: The Beverly Hillbillies and Midway while in the tent fort.
Midway was pretty good but its so hard to watch World War II movies after watching Band of Brothers. Midway is a typical Roland Emmerich movie with mediocre acting, a great cast, and huge CGI scenes. It kept me entertained but not something I’d watch again.
On Saturday, we got out for a bit and got lunch at Popeyes and did some driving around. Then on Sunday, Brandy cooked a baked ziti and made chili cheese dogs for lunch, so I ate well.
I signed up for a 30 day free trial of Shudder so that I could check out Creepshow as well as some other stuff I’ve missed on there. So far, I’m digging Creepshow and I’m hoping to gather a few more reviews for my horror website.
Speaking of my horror site. Today, I did some massive work on it. I decided it needed a new name since I wasn’t solely focusing on 90’s movies anymore. I didn’t have anything clever in mind so I went with Brandon’s Horror Review and I got the domain BrandonsHorror.com.
The site was actually hosted on a WordPress server for the past week, but I’ve decided to revert back to Blogger. As much as I want to break the Google stranglehold, I just like Blogger the best. It’s easy, simple, and basically a Web 1.0 with upgrades. Also, I wouldn’t be able to fully close account my account since I host a co-workers website on my blogger account and contribute to The Wrestling Insomniac from this account. So, I’m working on still removing as much of my life as I can from Google, while maintaining my Blogger account.
