I’ve mentioned a couple of times that things have been rough lately. Life is hammering me and well, I’m surviving, but not thriving. Most aspects of my life seem to be in the decline or at least are taking some serious abuse and the one thing that has been the strongest and most stable has been my relationship with Brandy. But even that is not immune to the pressures of life and between our jobs, conferences, and general bullshirt, we haven’t had as much time together as I would like.
When I discovered that we’d both have the day off on Wednesday, I quickly whipped together a few things to do for the both of us. I figured we could use a good helping of quality time and so we did exactly that.
We got up early and went to Duck Donuts, a popular donut shop here in NC that Brandy had never visited. It’s not my favorite donut, but it’s a unique little donut shop that I felt like she needed to experience.
After bowling, we went to Roma’s Pizza which specializes in Southern NY style sheet pizza and speidies. Speidies are a cubed meat sandwich marinated in vinegar and a bunch of spices that are pretty good and I thought she’d enjoy it. I was right, so we had a decent lunch to top off our early morning of fun.
The rest of the day was filled with sleeping, watching AEW, eating left over chili, and hanging out. It wasn’t the most awe inspiring day, but it was exactly the type of day our relationship needed.
